On Friday 13 June, the iconic Hockey Corporate tournament brought together Belgium’s leading companies for one of the biggest corporate sports events of the summer season. RTL Belgium fielded an enthusiastic team of eleven beginner players, proudly supported at the Royal Racing Club of Brussels.
Competition was intense, with strong opponents such as Beobank, Delvaux Créateur, Deutsche Bank, Red Pharma and the National Lottery. Despite heavy rain, storms and even power outages, the RTL team fought with determination, giving everything to defend their company’s colours.
Beyond their final ranking—19th out of 24—participants mainly remember the unique experience: discovering hockey, building team spirit, and sharing a memorable day with colleagues they normally rarely meet. Adversity only strengthened motivation, unity and the joy of competing together.
Player Emeline Mackaya reflects on the event as a personal and collective challenge. Initially planning to attend as a supporter, she embraced the beginner category to try something new. Supported by experienced teammates and an energetic crowd, she found excitement, courage and connection in this fun, festive and dynamic corporate moment.
